Founded in 2003, the Alabama Veterinary Medical Foundation was established to assist veterinary students and veterinary technicians by providing scholarships and endowments. Over the years, the Foundation has developed animal welfare programs, and supported various other existing programs such as the Alabama Spay Neuter Program that has contributed over 1 MILLION dollars back into the veterinary community! All of the Foundation programs contribute to the well being of animals and enhance the human-animal bond. Some of these programs are highlighted below!
Spay/Neuter Income Tax Checkoff ProgramHelp the less fortunate spay and neuter their pets through the ALVMF Spay/Neuter Program. Simply check off the box on your Alabama income tax return and donate to the program. It's that easy to save lives.

Spay/Neuter License Plate ProgramThrough the ALVMF Spay/Neuter License Plate Program, proceeds from statewide tag sales offset the cost of spay/neuter surgeries performed at participating hospitals throughout the state of Alabama.

Disaster Preparedness & ResponseThe Alabama Veterinary Medical Foundation established a disaster relief fund to assist with reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses related to animal care. Mobile animal sheltering units are also part of the relief services provided to communities when disaster strikes.
